Gilding is the application of genuine gold leaf to a surface — ceramic, glass or wood — to produce a luminous finish that paint cannot imitate. It appears in our Kintsugi and Sacred Icon work, and we also teach it on its own.
Working with real gold leaf
Gold leaf is extraordinarily thin and reacts to the smallest movement of air. Handling it is a skill in itself, and most of the workshop is about developing a steady, patient technique.
Where gilding is used
We use 24k gold leaf in our Sacred Icon glass painting as an optional upgrade, and gold is central to Kintsugi repair. If you are interested in either of those specifically, those pages may suit you better.

Questions
How much does the gilding workshop cost?
Pricing depends on the piece and the amount of leaf used, since genuine gold leaf is charged by area. Message us on WhatsApp and we will quote you.
Is it real gold?
Yes. We use genuine gold leaf, including 24k for sacred icon work.
Can I add gilding to another workshop?
Yes. Gold leaf is an optional upgrade on our Sacred Icon glass painting, and gold is central to our Kintsugi workshop.
Do I need experience?
No, but patience helps. Gold leaf is delicate and reacts to the smallest draught, so the technique is about slow, controlled movement.
